London is my favourite city in the world and over the years I've done quite a few races there. My first half was the Richmond Half, but I've also done the East London half, Urban Rush London, the Tower of London Run and I got to do the London Marathon last year. However, there are... New Balance Fresh Foam More V3 review and comparison
I already tried the 1080 V9 and the 1080 V11 and liked the Fresh Foam, but both those models had some issues with the heel counter. And I like max cushioned shoes, so more Fresh Foam did sound good to me, but somehow I didn’t get around to testing the first two versions of this... Continue Reading →
Hoka Carbon X3 review and comparison
I haven’t tried that many carbon-plated shoes yet. Mainly because I’m not very fast, so some carbon-plated shoes are just not a good fit for me. I did try the Saucony Endorphin Speed before and I did like the foam in that one, but the nylon plate sort of killed my feet, so I couldn’t... Continue Reading →
Rotterdam Half Marathon race review
This was my 13th half marathon and the 1st edition of the Rotterdam Half, although not quite. There used to be a half in September in Rotterdam until about 13 years ago. They decided to revive that event, but to hold it in July. Now organizing a race at the end of July is obviously... Continue Reading →
Adidas Solarglide 5 review and comparison
I’ve reviewed 6 pairs of Adidas shoes over the years. Some I really liked, others were just okay. But this is the first pair of Solarglide shoes that I’ve tried and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Adidas Solarglide 5 The stack of this shoe is quite high for a daily trainer, 36 millimeters... Continue Reading →
Vestingloop ‘s-Hertogenbosch 10K race recap
This was my first race since the Boston Marathon. In hindsight it might have been better for me to do the 5 kilometers instead of the 10, but I couldn’t change my distance at the last minute. It was also the first time I did this race, even though it isn’t that far from me... Continue Reading →
Boston Marathon 2022: Impossible is nothing
I've been waiting to run the Boston Marathon for several years now. In 2018, I didn't get in. In 2019 I did get in, but for the 2020 race and we all know that one never happened. In 2021 foreigners could not enter the U.S.A. Which brings us to 2022 and my chance to earn my 5th Marathon Major star.
Adidas Ultraboost 22 review and comparison
The Ultraboost 22 has both men's and women's specific version rather than just a shrunken down version for the women. But it still has the well known Boost midsole.
Semi de Paris race review
I decided to go to Paris for the half marathon. I’ve already done the full marathon in Paris in 2018. The route of the half is pretty similar but in the opposite direction. Plus, Paris has two parkruns, so that would allow me to do one of them on the Saturday before the race.
Shokz OpenRun Pro review and comparison
Lots of things are currently changing at Shokz (formerly AfterShokz). They’ve changed their name and the product names of some of their products and now they’ve launched a new product, the OpenRun Pro. Shokz (formerly AfterShokz) makes bone conduction headphones. The vibrations go via your bones to your inner ear rather than via your eardrum... Continue Reading →
