Brooks Caldera 6 review

I don’t live that far away from the trails, not very technical, pretty flat trails, that is, given that this is a flat country after all. So, once in a while, I’ll go trail running. I’ve always had at least one pair of trail running shoes in my rotation: Skechers GoRun Ultra (versions 1, 2,... Continue Reading →

ASICS London 10K race recap

Over the years I’ve done quite a few races in London, including the London Marathon, the Big Half, Urban Rush, Richmond Half and the Tower of London Run. But there are also still a few races that I still haven’t done. The Asics London 10K was one of those.  It’s also one of the races... Continue Reading →

New York City Marathon 2022

This race (and this race review) has been a long time coming. I got my race entry through the lottery for the 2020 race. Obviously, that 2020 race did not happen. The 50th race did happen in 2021, however, in 2021 foreigners were still not allowed to enter the US, so I didn’t get to run the 50th edition. The 2020 entry became a 2022 entry, for the 51st edition of the race. This wasn’t the first time I did the NYC Marathon, I also ran it in 2018, but it would be the first time that I’d run the same marathon twice.

Amsterdam Marathon 8 km 2022 race recap

I’ve done a race during the Amsterdam Marathon 3 times before. I’ve done the half in 2016 and I did the 8-kilometer race in 2017 and 2018. I really like the vibe during this event and parts of the route are great, although you don’t always go through the city center of Amsterdam and get... Continue Reading →

Dam tot Damloop 2022 race recap

This is the third time I’m running this race. At least, the 10-mile version of the race. I’ve also done the shorter Damloop by Night version of the race twice in 2014 and 2017. The full 10-mile version of the race I did in 2018 (got totally drenched and almost hypothermia) and in 2019 (which... Continue Reading →

Rotterdam Half Marathon race review

This was my 13th half marathon and the 1st edition of the Rotterdam Half, although not quite. There used to be a half in September in Rotterdam until about 13 years ago. They decided to revive that event, but to hold it in July. Now organizing a race at the end of July is obviously... Continue Reading →
