I decided to go to Paris for the half marathon. I’ve already done the full marathon in Paris in 2018. The route of the half is pretty similar but in the opposite direction. Plus, Paris has two parkruns, so that would allow me to do one of them on the Saturday before the race.
Christmas gifts for runners 2021
Since Black Friday is coming up, I thought now would be a good time to put out a gift guide. I did one in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, so here's the 2021 edition. I'm sure there will be some great Black Friday deals out there and I'll definitely do some online shopping myself (can't... Continue Reading →
Mizuno Wave Rider 25 review and comparison
The first Wave Rider I tried was the 23, which pleasantly surprised me. I also tried the GTX version of that shoe and after that I also tried the 24. In the last few years Mizuno has made some changes to their shoes. They had already changed the 24 compared to the 23 and they’ve... Continue Reading →
London Marathon Race Review
My last race was in February 2020. I had two marathons planned in 2020, Boston and New York. Neither of those happened obviously. Both were moved to 2021, but Boston reduced their field size, so no Boston for me in 2021. Instead I got the chance to run London, which I obviously took, since it’s... Continue Reading →
Reykjavik 10k
Due to the pandemic my last race was a 5k in February of 2020. Since then basically all races have been cancelled. Now that the everything is slowly starting back up again I've been planning races again, but obviously there are no guarantees of them going ahead. When Iceland was one of the first countries... AI training plans: TrainAsOne vs Trenara
In some countries races have already started again, in some they haven’t, but a lot of races are currently planned to take place this fall, including a lot of major marathons. You might be making plans for your fall races and might also be considering training plans. You could obviously train without one or get... Continue Reading →
Virtual Boston Marathon Race Review
After years of trying, I finally managed to get a bib for the 2020 Boston Marathon. I also managed to get a bib for the 2020 New York Marathon. So, 2020 would be a great running year. And then Corona happened. Boston got moved from April to September. At the beginning of the year this... Continue Reading →
Brooks Ghost 12 vs Mizuno Wave Rider 23 comparison
The Brooks Ghost 12 and the Mizuno Wave Rider 23 were both released last year. They are one of the most popular shoes in the line up of their respective brands. They may seem different, but they are actually quite similar shoes. They are in the same price range and they both are neutral running... Continue Reading →
OOfos OOmg low review
OOfos makes recovery footwear. I've been using their sandals for a couple of years now and I think they're great. Especially after very long runs, but I also just wear them in the summer instead of regular flip-flops, because they have good arch support. However, I live in a country where it isn't always warm... Chase the Moon Olympic Park 5k race review
This was my first RunthroughUK race. They organise a lot of races in London and elsewhere in the UK. During the winter they have the Chase the Moon series on Wednesday evenings and during the summer they have the Chase the Sun series. I'm an evening person and in the past some of my fastest...
