Semi de Paris race review

I decided to go to Paris for the half marathon. I’ve already done the full marathon in Paris in 2018. The route of the half is pretty similar but in the opposite direction. Plus, Paris has two parkruns, so that would allow me to do one of them on the Saturday before the race.

Christmas gifts for runners 2021

Since Black Friday is coming up, I thought now would be a good time to put out a gift guide. I did one in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, so here's the 2021 edition. I'm sure there will be some great Black Friday deals out there and I'll definitely do some online shopping myself (can't... Continue Reading →

London Marathon Race Review

My last race was in February 2020. I had two marathons planned in 2020, Boston and New York. Neither of those happened obviously. Both were moved to 2021, but Boston reduced their field size, so no Boston for me in 2021. Instead I got the chance to run London, which I obviously took, since it’s... Continue Reading →

Christmas gifts for runners 2020

Black Friday is coming up and since I did a gift guide in 2017, 2018 and 2019, it is time to share the 2020 version of the gift guide. Let’s be honest. 2020 didn’t turn out the way anyone had planned. And if 2020 showed us anything, it’s that it is important to stay safe... Continue Reading →

Virtual London Marathon race review

I was supposed to run two marathons this year, Boston and New York, but corona. I ran Boston virtual and wondered if I should do New York virtual as well, but for New York it’s not unusual to have a virtual event. They had a virtual event for the past few years. However, other Marathon... Continue Reading →

Virtual Boston Marathon Race Review

After years of trying, I finally managed to get a bib for the 2020 Boston Marathon. I also managed to get a bib for the 2020 New York Marathon. So, 2020 would be a great running year. And then Corona happened. Boston got moved from April to September. At the beginning of the year this... Continue Reading →

Half marathons for slow runners

I've already written a list with Marathons for slow runners and I've also written about the Marathon Majors and their cut off times. So, I thought I also do a list with half marathons and their cut off times. It is a bit easier to find a half with a longer cut off time than it... Continue Reading →

Christmas gifts for runners 2019

I've written a gift guide in 2018 and in 2017. So, it's time for the updated version. Flipbelt I've been using a Flipbelt for years now. Most running clothes just don't have enough pockets or the pockets are too small to hold your phone, keys and other things you want to take with you while... Continue Reading →

My first parkrun

Yes, I've been running for over five years now and it's taken me this long to do my first parkrun. That's because at present there is no parkrun in The Netherlands (although this will soon change). I've learned about parkrun through my British running friends. If you ask a Brit how they started running, more... Continue Reading →
